How do I configure auto-download for Nokia s40?

By default, WhatsApp on Nokia S40 devices never downloads media automatically.

To configure the auto-download settings go to Options > Settings > Chat Settings > Media Auto-Download.

Here you can specifically choose on which types of connections WhatsApp will automatically download media.

Never

Selected media will never automatically download. You will need to manually tap each image or video to download it.

Wi-Fi

Selected media will automatically download when you are connected to a Wi-Fi hotspot (e.g. your home Internet).

Wi-Fi and Cellular

Selected media will automatically download when you are connected to either a Wi-Fi hotspot or cellular data.

Wi-Fi, Cellular, Roaming

Selected media will automatically download when you are connected to Wi-Fi or cellular even when you are roaming.

Note: Enabling media auto-download on roaming may result in significantly increased charges from your mobile provider as roaming data is often expensive.
