How do I change my profile picture, name, or status for BlackBerry10?

Profile Photo

There are currently different places from which you can set your profile photo:

  • Your smartphone's Pictures
  • The Title Bar in WhatsApp
  • WhatsApp Settings

To set your profile photo from your smartphone's Pictures:

  1. Open Pictures from the home screen.
  2. Choose a photo and tap How do I change my profile picture, name, or status for BlackBerry10? More.
  3. Tap How do I change my profile picture, name, or status for BlackBerry10? Set As > WhatsApp Picture > Done.

To set your profile photo from the Title Bar:

  1. Go to WhatsApp and tap the Title Bar on the top of the screen to open your Profile Info.
  2. Tap your profile photo, then tap How do I change my profile picture, name, or status for BlackBerry10? Set Photo to take a new profile picture or upload a photo from your phone's Pictures.

To set your profile photo from the WhatsApp Settings:

  1. Go to WhatsApp > Application Menu (swipe down from the top of the screen to see it) > How do I change my profile picture, name, or status for BlackBerry10? Settings.
  2. Select Profile Info.
  3. Tap your profile photo, then tap How do I change my profile picture, name, or status for BlackBerry10? Set Photo to take a new profile picture or upload an existing photo.

If you block a contact, that person will not see any updates to your profile picture.

Profile Name

There are two places from which you can set your name:

  • The Title Bar in WhatsApp
  • WhatsApp Settings

To set your profile name from the Title Bar:

  1. Go to WhatsApp > Tap the Title Bar on the top of the screen to open your Profile Info.
  2. Tap the text box below your profile photo and enter your profile name.

To set your profile name from WhatsApp Settings:

  1. Go to WhatsApp > Application Menu (swipe down from the top of the screen to see it) > How do I change my profile picture, name, or status for BlackBerry10? Settings.
  2. Select Profile Info.
  3. Tap the text box below your profile photo and enter your profile name.

Status

The status feature in WhatsApp is a real time indication of what you are doing so that you can keep up to date with your contacts. To set your status:

  1. Go to WhatsApp > How do I change my profile picture, name, or status for BlackBerry10? Tab Menu > Status.
  2. You can choose a default status or create a personalized one.
  3. To create a personal status, press the How do I change my profile picture, name, or status for BlackBerry10? button and tap OK after you are finished.
